I am beginning to think Lynlee might walk before she crawls. She would rather being standing and she hates tummy time. You might have seen that a few times in earlier blogs. It is very true that you wait 6-8 months for them to be on the move and more independent and then once they can move you think man it sure was nice when they stayed in one spot. Although Lynlee doesn’t officially crawl she has discovered that she can scoot on her bottom to get places. She is very smart at figuring out how to avoid tummy time. This in turn has quickly made me realize how NOT baby proof my house is. Just in the last week, she has discovered my peace lily plant, her foam play mat that I thought I had hidden nicely, the light socket (and yes her finger does fit nicely into), my baskets under my coffee table, the fireplace, her diaper caddy that holds all of the diapers, the diapers, the wipes, Milo, Milo’s toys, and I am sure I have left some out. Needless to say Wes and I will be very busy this weekend BABY PROOFING! I imagine she is going to keep me even busier when she actually starts crawling. She keeps us busy but she makes us laugh at every new thing she finds. It is hard to be serious when she looks up at you with her cute little grin and you know she is thinking “What mom, am I not supposed to be doing this”
Side note, she has officially said MaMa although I am still not sure she knows that is me. Oh well it was just sweet to hear those words. She has discovered that when she is crying and says it that I come to her rescue. As I said, I think she is very smart.
