What a great year 2012 is going to be. We rang in the New Year with friends and the best band ever "Z and the Party Factory". We had them at hour wedding and were very excited to hear them again. They sure do know how to get people on the dance floor. It was a great night. Our little bug was with my parents celebrating the New Year at my sister's house. We had to call her early to wish her a new year before she went to bed, but my mom said she had so much fun playing with her cousins and staying up late.
I am not sure if new resolutions have really been thought about for 2012 because they always seem to get broken soon after the year starts. However I do know there are lots of things that I would like to improve in my life for 2012 so I guess whether I call it a resolution or not, here is my list.
My improvement list:
1. Strive to be a good, patient mother to Lynlee (we are entering the Toddler phase and with that brings new attitudes/adventures but I want to enjoy every minute as I know it will go by fast)
2. Spend more time in quiet devotion with the Lord
3. Learn to sew ( I got a sewing machine for Christmas and have already begun to learn some things but I would love to be fluent at sewing)
4. Read more
5. Exercise more ( I am ashamed to say I got a treadmill for Mother's day per my request and have only been on it 2 times since May)
I know these all seem very common on people's resolution list. As I have closed out 2011, I have truly thought about what changes I would like to make in 2012 to better myself and these stood out the most. I can say that I have spent the first 2 days of this New Year working on my goals already. I have read 1 book, started a prayer book recommend by some of my friends, and attempted to sew Lynlee a cute dress. Which I recommend practicing ALOT before attempting to actually sew a patterned outfit but I am enjoying learning. Maybe soon I will be able to post on my first official successful project.
Lastly, I spent today rocking my sweet baby as she slept and oh what a joy it was just to watch her sleep. It reminded me how blessed I truly am to be her mother and I just prayed a loud that God would guide me through this journey helping me to be the best mom I could be to her and forgive me on those days I make mistakes.
So I would say, I have started out 2012 pretty good. Now I pray that I am able to continue throughout the year. I hope that you will continue to check in with me to see how our 2012 is going and I hope that you have a wonderful 2012 as well.
Happy New Year!!
